Citra Cosmeceuticals is an innovator in the research and development of Micro-algae as an active ingredient in Skin & Hair Care, Nutrition Supplements and Food Additives.
The Company has operated a lab for cultivating and researching micro-algae for many years. Here, the team, in cooperation with university researchers and medical doctors, developed and tested a strain of micro-algae, known for its cosmetic properties. The team successfully devised a method for creating Polysaccharides under special conditions that produce extracts with uncommonly beneficial properties for skin care.

The resulting Polysaccharide complex developed by Citra was first used in the creation of a micro-algae-based anti-aging cream gel for the face – a fundamentally new product, at the time, for the European market. Today, the Company’s extracts are used in products manufactured for leading global cosmetics brands.

The company’s success in producing this value-added extract led to the formulation of its own Odem cosmeceuticals brand, dedicated to the daily care of both normal and irritated skin.

Citra is a fervent advocate of sustainable skin care – the belief that cosmetic ingredients must be healthy for the human body and the environment. Odem products comprise only ingredients that do not contaminate the body and the Earth with harmful chemicals often used in cosmetics. They are non-toxic and contain no silicone, parabens, SLS / SLES, hormones or allergens. Citra’s production processes do not use solvents, pesticides or irradiation.
